This is a little gem of a hotel. The location is beautiful - absolute beach front with the sounds of waves 24/7. You can eat right beside the beach for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms are colonial style with loads of character which we love. Very clean and tidy. Comfy beds too. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff are so friendly and accomodating. The food is delicious and the breakfast selection perfect. Make sure you order their Sri Lankan style breakfast the night before if you want that as an option. We ended up eating here most evenings too because it was so good. The pool is a good size and always clean, we enjoyed cooling off a few times in it after a hot day browsing the Hikkaduwa area. They even have a super friendly onsite dog and although there are a few stray dogs around (typical for this part of Sri Lanka) even they are super friendly and delightful company! We wish we could have brought one in particular home with us, he was such a gentle natured boy. Price is very reasonable we think, you wont regret staying here. Just a note that the beach isn't safe for swimming, but just being right on the beach is so beautiful you wont miss the ocean dip - just use the pool instead or go for a swim at nearby Turtle Bay.

Small resort with beach front. Rooms are spacious, so is the bathroom, which needs a little renovation (might be like that because we came end of season - lit last days of it). Beds are wide and comfortable with clean bedsheets. Superior rooms have an amazing view over the sea/ocean. The waves can be easily heard - ocean symphony. Amazing breakfast, despite the fact that I was having the same every day, toasted bread with local butter and jam and the big pot of Sri Lanka coffee. I have to mention that the food at their restaurant is delicious, compared to many others - so don’t hesitate to try along with the local beer or any other cocktails during the happy hour. Beach is clean but not possible to swim, but the view is amazing (daytime, sunset). If speaking about the staff, I have to thank Mr Kumara who helped me get my luggage since was lost at the airport and he helped with all the paperwork even the calls to the airport, very careful, attentive to details, not only with regards to this case but in general. The staff is wonderful, always there when needed, attentive and polite. Security available at night, very polite gentleman.

We like it all, it was amazing, where to start? The staff were amazing, the hotel only has 9 room, but has 11 staff so they are always on hand to help with anything, big or small, and their sense of cutomer service is to be congratulated. The deputy manager Kumarasiri was especially attentive and very friendly and helpful with almost anything, even local travel advice. The room was huge, we had the pool suite and they had put an extra bed in so all 4 of us would fit, and you could still have a party in there, the 4-poster bed was massive and very very comfortable, the room opened right out onto the garden terrace and beachfront on one side, with french doors onto the pool on the other side. The pool area is fully enclosed, right next to the bar and covered dining area, it's such a small cosy hotel that everything is close by and convenient. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, and we worked out that if you factor in transport elsewhere, actually, not more expensive than eating out, so after workign that out we just ate there most nights and were never disappointed, the black pork curry is especially nice.

We travelled with our 15 month old and the staff were all so helpful and friendly. They even offered to keep her while we had dinner which was very kind of them. Everyone from the security at the property was always happy to help and was always with a smile on their face! The rooms were a pleasant surprise! So well thought out and had all the comforts you could ask for. To wake up to the view of the ocean from your bed is such a luxury. The beach area was maintained so well and our little one had the best time running on that beach. Oh and last but not least the food! All the dishes we tried was so delicious and the portions were extremely generous. They had a kids menu which was was great and even got us milk rice even though we forgot to inform them in advance. All the staff there went above and beyond. It was the perfect beach getaway and we can’t wait to be back!

Andrea

Room was spotlessly clean, AC powerful, hot water & the surrounding grounds are well kept & so relaxing - they have a hammock & yoga Mats to use for free - great for sunrise/sunset! The beach is very clean, in our opinion this side of the beach is far better than the busier main section of Hikkaduwa where you lose half the beach for half the day because of the tide. But is only 10 min beach walk away to go to to the main portion. Breakfast was delicious - good amount of food! Staff were lovely and helpful - they organised our transfer to ulawatuna for us at a very reasonable price (we were 5 people!) Definitely try the two brothers restaurant at the front of the hotel off the main road - super cheap, rustic & authentic Sri Lankan food 2 mins walk from the hotel - you won’t regret it - service & food were 5* and its by the roadside!! Thank you for having us!
